Porsche Taycan Electronics Repair

27. 4. 2026

An electronics-packed Porsche Taycan arrived at our shop for repair. The problem troubling the owner was a flickering center control panel (Center console / Porsche Taycan Centre Control / Climate Control Screen / PCM/CDR) and a flickering passenger display (10.9" JH1 touchscreen).

On the bottom display, light-colored stripes of various widths were flashing, making it difficult to use the touchpad. During the flickering, the screen remained unresponsive and the haptic feedback was also non-functional at that moment. On the optional passenger display, besides the entire screen flickering, "grainy" static appeared, much like on an old analog TV. The flickering of the two displays was not synchronized.

The car had, of course, been to a service center for a software update, but that did not resolve the issue. The Taycan owner also tried online guides from forums and advice from artificial intelligence, which recommended a unit restart using a two-finger gesture. These only worked short-term, and the problem always returned.

Our technicians dived into the diagnostics of the fault. At the beginning, it wasn't certain if the flickering of both displays was related or if they were two separate faults. Diagnostics of individual components and the entire PCM 6.0 system were necessary. Electronics can sometimes be quite tricky, and it’s important not to underestimate anything. We managed to identify the fault, and after the repair, the stripes on the touch control panel disappeared and the passenger screen stopped flickering. During several days of testing, this fault did not occur once.
